Malaga Metro will provide service to 21,5 million passengers when the complete circuit of line 1 and 2 will operate. Both lines will link areas of large population density with the city centre, and will also provide access to essential services such as hospitals, the University Campus, the “City of Justice”, the “Sports Palace” or the port. On the other hand, the Maria Zambrano train station will allow an easy interchange between both lines without having to change platforms, apart from facilitating a quick access to the AVE, Medium Distance trains, Regional and Suburban trains, as well as to the Intercity bus station.
Both lines follows a “Y” route, as they use the same railway section from the city centre and later open up into two-pronged section fork towards the Carretera Cadiz area or the Teatinos area alternatively.
